Dr Wil Wilson
Veterinarian
Dr Wil was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and qualified as a vet from Edinburgh University in Scotland. He eventually arrived in Australia nine years ago via a convoluted journey involving Wales, Ireland, and New Zealand. Wil has an interest in orthopaedic, abdominal and eye surgery. He also enjoys working with colleagues from other countries and the younger generation of vets who often have different techniques and treatments which he thinks is beneficial for the practice overall. He is always willing to help others and give advice or second opinion on the medical case.
Wil has two dogs; Hank who is an ex-guide dog puppy but unfortunately had a few health issues and Charlie who was due to be euthanised at a previous practice before the nurses decided he would be a good fit for his family. Their weight management can best be described as challenging. Wil’s main interests outside work include motorcycles, especially fixing/restoring them, he enjoys going to the cinema and walking the dogs. He also seems to buy houses that require constant maintenance which means he does a fair bit of DIY as well. We all love Dr Wil’s sense of humour and his kind nature.

Dr Emily Mabbott
Veterinarian
Dr Emily is our experienced Veterinarian and a new team member. Emily always knew she wanted to be a vet while she was growing up and she qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 2005. By then she had had enough of the infamous British weather, and she moved to Hong Kong, where she worked at both a busy small animal hospital and the Jockey club for a few years. After a rather prolonged holiday travelling Australia, Emily decided she liked it so much that she’s still here! She initially worked in a busy equine and small animal practice in the Western suburbs before moving to the Northside of Brisbane and is our most recent addition to the team at Bonton Avenue.
Emily enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a bit of a soft spot for our geriatric patients. When Emily is not at work, she is busy at home with her two young boys and rather naughty, American Staffy, Nitro.

Tyla
Veterinary Nurse (Trainee)
Hi, my name is Tyla and I am currently studying my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
I was most interested in the animal behaviour and science, and I completed my Certificate III in animal behaviour through the TAFE. During this time, I gained a passion for caring and nursing for the animals and I started my journey into Veterinary Nursing.
Often on the weekends you’ll find me hanging out with my friends and their pets. I must admit, Staffordshire Terriers and Golden Retrievers are my favourite breeds, their smiles make the hard work being worth it at the end of day.
If you hear me on the phone, please be patient as I am still learning.

Lily
Veterinary Nurse (Trainee)
Hello, my name is Lily and I am currently finishing my certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. For as long as I could remember I have always wanted to help not only people but animals as well and that’s why I love veterinary nursing. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family or going to grab a coffee with friends or even sitting down with a good book. I have one cat, his name is George. He is a bit mischievous and keeps me on my toes but always good entertainment. If you are here at the reception, please come and introduce yourself and your pets, as I love meeting new animals and chatting to our clients.
